We are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Mechanical / Electrical Engineer to support the design, installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems across our Freshwater operations.
Our Freshwater region produces up to 12 million smolts annually, supplying to our marine farms around Scotland’s west coast, Orkney and Shetland.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out inspections, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, drawings, and maintenance documentation as required.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support project delivery and maintenance activities.
- Monitor compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and engineering regulations and standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, energy efficiency, cost control, and asset optimisation.
- Provide technical support during commissioning, testing, and handover of new or upgraded systems.
- Design, review, and oversee mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and installations in line with project and operational requirements.
- Time served apprenticeship qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, maintenance, project delivery, or a similar technical role.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, fault-finding techniques, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professional conduct.
