Position: Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper

We are partnering with an expanding SME within the tech sector to recruit an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This is a broad, hands‑on position offering exposure across transactional finance, banking, supplier management, and wider business operations.

A standout feature of this opportunity is the excellent flexibility on offer, with just 2 days per week required in the office and the remainder working remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raise customer sales orders and prepare invoices accurately and on time
  • Maintain customer accounts, monitor outstanding balances, and manage credit control activities
  • Process purchase orders, supplier invoices, credit notes, and employee expense claims
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and ensure ledgers remain accurate and up to date
  • Post daily bank transactions and complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage company credit card receipts and perform monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with VAT return preparation and submissions
  • Provide support with stock control and finance processes linked to production operations
  • Oversee the finance inbox and maintain organised, accurate financial documentation
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or Bookkeeping role
  • Strong understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, and reconciliations
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Desirable Experience
  • Exposure to accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP platforms
