Orkney Health and Care is recruiting Relief Senior Social Care Workers to support older people’s services across Orkney on an as and when required basis.
This role is suited to an experienced social care professional who is confident providing high quality care and supporting service users’ wellbeing in a residential setting.
The roleAs a Relief Senior Social Care Worker, you will carry out tasks and duties delegated by the Registered Manager, ensuring the social and domestic care needs of service users are met.
You will support service users with personal care and daily living, maintaining dignity, safety, and comfort at all times.
You will observe confidentiality, follow Care Inspectorate standards, and contribute to the effective running of the service.
Senior Social Care Workers are required to provide standby cover when needed.
Working patternThis is a supply and relief role, with hours offered on an as and when required basis.
You should be able to travel efficiently between work locations across Orkney to meet service needs.
What we are looking forPrevious experience in social care is essential, and experience in a supervisory or management role is desirable.
You should hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare, or an equivalent qualification, to enable registration with the SSSC.
You must be registered, or able to register, with the SSSC as a Supervisor in Care Home Services for Adults within three months of appointment.
What is on offerThe hourly rate for this role is £20.41 per hour, including Distant Islands Allowance.
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate.
