Your ImpactWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Licensing Specialist to join our Software Asset Management (SAM) team. This role focuses on analyzing customer licensing usage and requirements to develop efficient, cost-effective renewal strategies. You will also support a small, established team of Software Asset Analysts, working closely with clients and external software vendors.
What You Will Do Licensing Lifecycle Management- Manage new and existing customer software licenses.
- Assist customers in understanding and optimizing their software entitlements.
- Ensure compliance with licensing terms and avoid legal risks using industry best practices.
- Import licenses and agreements into entitlement databases.
- Conduct software inventory and reconciliation analysis across various publishers.
- Match installed software with appropriate licenses.
- Generate customized reports and cost-saving recommendations.
- Collaborate with software publishers and customers to validate license and agreement data.
- Strong understanding of Product Use Rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements (specialization in one or more vendors preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all stakeholder levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in virtual and multi-location environments.
- Experience with software installation and inventory systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Service Management capabilities and toolsets.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
- Ability to follow and improve existing procedures.
- Willingness to learn SAM best practices (training provided).
- Active High Level Security Clearance.
- Vendor certifications (e.g., Microsoft, IBM, VMware, Red Hat, Citrix).
- ITIL V3/V4 Foundation or equivalent experience in a Service Management environment.
