Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Facilities Manager to play a key role in ensuring schools operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with contractual and statutory requirements. The Facilities Manager will lead the day–to–day delivery of facilities management services, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements while maintaining strong client relationships. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, managing resources effectively, and delivering safe, efficient, and high–quality services across multiple school sites.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support site teams to deliver outstanding Facilities Management services.
- Ensure contractual, statutory, and regulatory compliance across a portfolio of two schools within the North Ayrshire area.
- Manage budgets effectively to achieve financial targets while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance, lifecycle works, and subcontractor performance.
- Promote and maintain Health & Safety compliance across all sites.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and school leadership teams.
- Produce accurate reports and monitor service delivery performance against contractual KPIs.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high–performing team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational performance and service quality.
- A good standard of education and a relevant qualification in Facilities Management or a related discipline.
- Proven success in a similar facilities or operational management role.
- Strong knowledge of compliance, statutory obligations, utilities management, and lifecycle planning.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem–solving skills.
- Commercial awareness with a results–driven approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of service delivery and improvement initiatives.
- A flexible, adaptable, and collaborative approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
- Must pass PVG Check before starting
- Full Drivers Licence
