Connect Appointments is recruiting a Machine Operative to join an established steel manufacturing business based in Cumbernauld.

Our client manufactures steel fencing and gate components, offering a Monday to Thursday working week with three-day weekends and a competitive salary.

What’s on offer?

Full-time ongoing position
Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm
£16 to £17 per hour (dependent on experience)

As a Machine Operative, your duties will include:

Operating power presses, brake presses, rolling mills and drilling machines to produce steel fencing and gate components
Maintaining machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines
Conducting routine inspections to identify faults or defects
Taking accurate measurements and making adjustments as required
Reading and interpreting basic technical drawings and specifications

To be considered as a Machine Operative, you will need:

Previous experience operating power presses, brake press machines or similar machinery
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role
A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work
