CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator (Hurco)

Are you an experienced CNC Miller Programmer, Setter and Operator with Hurco machining experience looking for a highly rewarding opportunity with excellent earning potential?

We are recruiting on behalf of a precision engineering company in Cumbernauld seeking a skilled machinist to join their growing team. This role offers competitive pay, regular overtime at double time, and the chance to work on a variety of high-precision components across multiple industries.

The Role

As a CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating Hurco CNC milling machines, producing precision components to exact customer specifications while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting and operating Hurco CNC milling machines.
  • Producing one-off, prototype and batch work.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Selecting tooling, fixtures and machining strategies.
  • Editing existing programs and creating programs from scratch.
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.
  • Using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
  • Maintaining quality, productivity and housekeeping standards.
  • Working closely with the production team to meet delivery targets.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer, Setter and Operator.
  • Strong knowledge of Hurco controls.
  • Ability to program from scratch and make program amendments.
  • Experience working within a precision engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competent using inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Experience machining a range of materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
