Green New Deal Rising is looking for a creative and strategic Campaigner to deliver bold, people-powered campaigns that shift the political agenda and to help bridge our movement with decision-makers through parliamentary organising.
In our small, agile staff team, you’ll own real responsibility early, contribute to shaping our direction, and watch your work make an immediate impact.
As part of our multi-year strategy, we have ambitious plans to mobilise young people, disrupt politics, and force this government, and those that follow, to deliver transformative change. Campaigning will be central to this: shaping the narrative, escalating pressure, and converting people power into political concessions.
You will design and deliver impactful campaign interventions, both on the ground and digitally, and support our movement to do the same. You will be a creative thinker with strong written communication skills, good political judgement, and a desire to get our demands into the news cycle and onto the political agenda.
Alongside general campaigning work, you will play a key role in parliamentary organising: supporting advocacy with MPs, helping integrate political champions into our campaigns, and ensuring our campaigning activity creates meaningful pressure inside and outside Westminster.
Responsibilities- Own and deliver campaign projects or work streams, translating strategic direction into plans, actions, and outcomes.
- Design and deliver creative campaign interventions, including on-the-ground actions, digital campaigns, and moments of strategic disruption.
- Shape and communicate campaign narratives through written content, social media, email, and press work.
- Lead parliamentary organising by building relationships with MPs, candidates, and political staff, and integrating political champions into campaign activity.
- Exercise sound day-to-day judgement in fast-moving political contexts, adapting tactics and mitigating for risks where needed.
- Coordinate and support volunteers and contributors to deliver campaign activity, including managing national teams.
- Contribute to a healthy, inclusive movement culture and pitch in across the team during busy moments.
We expect the applicant to have most of the key skills and experience, and some of the ‘nice to haves’. Nobody meets everything! We have no specific education requirements, and experience can be across paid and unpaid contexts.
If you have any questions about the role or working at GND Rising, please email recruitment and we’ll get back to you via email or set up a phone call.
Key skills and experience – you will:- Solid experience in organising, campaigning, or movement-building, with a track record of owning and delivering projects or campaigns.
- Have experience of working directly with MPs and MP offices and understand how MPs can most effectively organise alongside movements for change.
- Have great knowledge of the UK political system, recent electoral history and keep up to date with political news
- Strong writing skills, with experience producing compelling campaign content.
- Experience coordinating volunteers, teams, or contributors.
- Good political judgement and the ability to work independently with strategic direction.
- Confidence using digital tools for campaigning and collaboration.
- Commitment to a Green New Deal rooted in climate, economic, and racial justice.
- Existing relationships with Green New Deal Champions and other MPs, and staff members from MP offices.
- Existing relationships with organisations in the climate and new economy movement and electoral organising focused organisations
- Experience delivering direct action or high-profile campaign moments.
