About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent / Sub Agent to join a growing team delivering multiple highways infrastructure projects across the Cumbria region. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a strong pipeline of work, offering stability through rolling 6-month contract extensions.
The role is a mix of office-based planning and site supervision, requiring someone who is equally comfortable preparing project documentation as they are managing operations on site.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highways projects.
Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and project stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and maintain accurate site records.
Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Support project planning and programme delivery.
Attend occasional night shifts as required (enhanced rates apply).

Requirements

Essential:

Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent on highways or civil engineering projects.
Strong experience producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
CSCS Gold Card (or above).
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
