Our client is a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering highways, utilities and infrastructure projects for both national frameworks and local authorities. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to join their delivery team.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, working alongside experienced Framework and Project Managers while developing your leadership, commercial and operational skills within a supportive and forward-thinking business.
The Role
As a Site Agent / Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring programmes, budgets and quality standards are achieved while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support Framework Managers and Project Managers in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Manage day-to-day site operations, coordinating labour, subcontractors, plant and materials to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Lead by example in promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations and company procedures.
Prepare and deliver Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefings.
Develop and manage short-term lookahead programmes, ensuring resources are planned effectively to meet project milestones.
Monitor project costs, forecast expenditure and contribute to the commercial performance of projects.
Assist with the administration of NEC contracts and support the management of contractual obligations.
Produce, implement and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved.
Maintain accurate project records, including site diaries, progress reports and quality documentation.
Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and weekly planning meetings, ensuring effective communication across day and night shifts.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and handover.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Site Agent or Site Manager within the civil engineering sector.
Strong working knowledge of highways, utilities or infrastructure projects.
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and project resources.
Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
Full UK driving licence.
