Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team, delivering a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across North and South Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong civil engineering or utilities background to play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the safe delivery of construction activities on site.
Lead site teams and subcontractors to achieve programme milestones.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to maximise productivity.
Monitor project progress and report on programme performance.
Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the wider project team.
Ensure all site documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimise delays.
Promote a positive safety culture and high-quality workmanship.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
Experience delivering water and/or wastewater projects is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and health & safety legislation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site activities.
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Full UK driving licence.

CSCS Manager Card
First Aid at Work
Temporary Works awareness (desirable)
NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)
EUSR Water Hygiene (desirable)
