Financial Reporting Manager
Job Summary plan .com is one of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK and the Isle of Man, and our finance function is evolving just as quickly. We are seeking a driven, dynamic and meticulous Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team at a genuinely interesting point in that journey: we are investing in automation and AI to take the manual effort out of reporting, so that the team can spend more of its time on analysis, insight and control.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance across our financial reporting processes for our UK and Isle of Man entities, with a drive to understand the complexities of our business and the ability to tackle problems from all sorts of different angles. Just as importantly, they will be expected to question how things are done today and help us do them better tomorrow — whether that means refining a process in Dynamics 365 Business Central, rebuilding a report, or using AI tools to remove a manual workaround.
This role involves various aspects of corporate finance and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency. The Financial Reporting Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting decision-making processes within the organisation, and offers the chance for the successful candidate to evolve alongside our company as we embark on our next phase of expansion.
Duties & Responsibilities Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and onward reporting to internal and external stakeholders Preparation of statutory reporting Ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of core accounting records within Dynamics 365 Business Central Covenant monitoring and reporting to external finance providers Preparation and submission of VAT returns Preparation and submission of IOM and UK Corporate Tax returns and ensuring compliance with the latest taxation legislation Support with the ongoing maintenance and further development of a robust financial control environment Identifying and delivering opportunities to automate and streamline the reporting cycle, including the practical use of AI tools, and helping to embed those improvements across the wider finance team Developing and improving reporting out of Business Central and our wider reporting tools, reducing the team's reliance on manual spreadsheets Acting as a finance point of contact for system and data queries, and working with colleagues across the business on process and system change Liaising with external auditors Ad hoc projects Training and mentoring junior members of staff Key Skills / Attributes An ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant with 1-3 years PQE, experience in a financial reporting role desirable Strong knowledge of Excel;
experience of Power BI or similar reporting tools desirable
Experience of Dynamics 365 Business Central would be preferable; experience of a comparable ERP, together with the appetite to get up to speed quickly, will also be considered Open to using AI in day-to-day work and genuinely interested in what it can do for a finance function — hands-on experience of tools such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot is desirable A process improvement mindset: you notice manual, repetitive work and want to fix it rather than work around it Sound judgement on when to lean on a tool and when to check the detail yourself, alongside a healthy respect for data confidentiality and control Willingness to embrace an environment where no two days are the same Excellent written and verbal communication Desire to understand and challenge the detail behind the numbers within the business Attention to detail in a pressured environment is critical Ambition to be a key team member, driving an already successful business to even greater heights Excited by working in an environment that celebrates both personal and corporate success Diligent with a focus on accuracy of output and able to work to tight deadlines A hunger for learning and development Solid commercial acumen and a desire to push boundaries to constantly improve
Experience of working within a business with high volumes of transactions would be desirable. Please note this is an office based role in the Isle of Man.
