The Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to deliver excellent customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. Duties include greeting customers, processing sales and loan transactions, maintaining product displays, handling cash and negotiable items, and communicating legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions. The role requires interaction with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).
Responsibilities- Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
- Maintains a clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
- Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
- Handles all cash and negotiable items in compliance with company guidelines.
- Answers incoming calls in accordance with company standards.
- Communicates effectively to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
- Collaborates with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
- Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Successfully completes assigned training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time in accordance with federal, state, and local law.
- Ability to work with firearms and acquire firearms certification if required.
- Minimum age 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and team‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic math calculation proficiency.
- Preferred cash handling experience.
- Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate Point‑Of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2‑8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants receive more details during the interview process.
