Overview

We are looking for a Production Operator in Cupar.

Salary: £35,419.53 inclusive shift premium.

Working hours:

12-hour continental shifts based on a 3/2 pattern, rotating across nights and days, including weekends and bank holidays.

Reports to:

Shift Operations Manager.

Main Accountability:
Production Operatives are a vital part of the plant, working across every area to maintain high standards. They will be responsible for the performance of their zone using LEAN Manufacturing frameworks and driving key performance indicators.

Responsibilities
  • Operate effectively on one of our food packing lines as part of a small line team.
  • Carry out and record all quality checks at specified intervals, escalating any non-conformances.
  • Perform sanitation & CRP tasks to the required standard and complete all paperwork accurately and promptly to ensure traceability.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic workplace, working safely and improving safety through plant systems.
  • Drive plant KPI targets of cost, quality, service, hygiene and safety.
  • Take responsibility and ownership of the zone you work in; maintain good housekeeping, hygiene and 5S/lean standards.
  • Use OEE data to improve cost, quality, efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Use data from Lineview to understand machine performance, account for stoppages, add commentary and initiate root cause analysis for any gaps.
  • Work independently and within a small team.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing desirable but not essential.
  • Basic training will be provided; good numeric and computer skills are an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to operate machinery and carry out minor adjustments if required.
  • Results-focused with a commitment to meeting targets.

  • Strong team player adopting a continuous improvement mindset.
