Overview

Senior Strategic Initiatives Go to Market (GTM) specialist, role on the Amazon Annapurna Labs ML team is responsible for driving growth on mid and long term strategic initiatives with AI research and open source communities. This position focuses on understanding influential AI researcher and open source community needs and how to best onboard them to AWS AI Chips. This role focuses on understanding business needs, identifying relevant academic research, and measuring innovation value to guide investment decisions.

This role will work closely with other GTM specialists in our team, and across AWS to promote, attract and drive AI researcher and open source community growth.

• Identify strategic opportunities, evaluate academic research solutions, and establish processes to measure ongoing investments.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to communicate insights and drive engagement with academic AI researchers and open source communities.
• Articulate the benefits of AWS AI Chips and GenAI-related services to data scientists and researchers at all levels of the stack.
• Partner with teams within AWS (product, solutions architecture, sales, marketing, and professional services) and externally with customers and third-party model providers.
• Look for patterns and trends applicable across industries or customer sets to accelerate innovation.
• Lead engagements with Academic AI researchers and open source communities, with domain expertise in GenAI and key ML use cases.

The Amazon Annapurna Labs team is responsible for building innovation in silicon and software for our AWS customers. We are at the forefront of innovation by combining cloud scale with the world’s most talented engineers. Our team covers multiple disciplines including silicon engineering, hardware design, software and business development. Along with the AI Chips Inferrentia and Trainium, Annapurna Labs has delivered advancements in Networking with AWS Nitro, Amazon’s first ARM based instances with AWS Graviton and first FPGA instances in the cloud.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology
• 7+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
• Experience using managed ML/AI solutions
• Experience working cross-functionally across several teams
• Experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery, or experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts

• Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
• Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
• 7+ years of experience working with AI researchers, academic programs, and open source communities
• 7+ years of experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and managing stakeholders
• 7+ years of experience with GenAI/LLM in a business development/partner capacity
