Overview

Senior Strategic Initiatives Go to Market (GTM) specialist, role on the Amazon Annapurna Labs ML team is responsible for driving growth on mid and long term strategic initiatives with AI research and open source communities. This position focuses on understanding influential AI researchers and open source community needs and how to best onboard them to AWS AI Chips. This role focuses on understanding business needs, identifying relevant academic research, and measuring innovation value to guide investment decisions.

This role will work closely with other GTM specialists in our team, and across AWS to promote, attract and drive AI researcher and open source community growth.

About The Team:
The Amazon Annapurna Labs team is responsible for building innovation in silicon and software for our AWS customers. We are at the forefront of innovation by combining cloud scale with the world’s most talented engineers. Our team covers multiple disciplines including silicon engineering, hardware design, software and business development. Along with the AI Chips Inferentia and Trainium, Annapurna Labs has delivered advancements in Networking with AWS Nitro, Amazon’s first ARM based instances with AWS Graviton and first FGPA instances in the cloud.

  • The ideal candidate is a deep thinker who excels in cross-functional teams and thrives in fast-paced environments. They should be adept at identifying strategic opportunities, evaluating academic research solutions, and establishing processes to measure ongoing investments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across AWS (product, solutions architecture, sales, marketing, and professional services) to promote, attract, and drive AI researcher and open source community growth.
  • Lead engagements with Academic AI researchers and open source communities; articulate benefits of AWS deep learning and GenAI-related services to data scientists and academics.
  • Identify patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or set of customers to accelerate innovation.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology
  • 7+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
  • Experience using managed ML/AI solutions
  • Experience working cross functionally across several teams
  • Experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery, or experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
  • 7+ Experience working with AI Researchers, Academic programs, and Open Source communities
  • 7+ Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and managing stakeholders
  • 7+ Experience with GenAI/LLM in a business development/partner capacity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
