Are you passionate about project management and internal controls? We are seeking an experienced SOX Project Manager with deep expertise, particularly within a compliance domain. Join our team to lead impactful projects, support regulatory compliance, and promote continuous improvement within our dynamic SOX PMO environment.

Description

This role requires a dynamic individual adept at facilitating planning and status meetings among experts, actively identifying risks, resolving issues with stakeholders and executives, coaching teams to achieve workstream objectives, and ensuring seamless project execution from initiation to closure. Additionally, the role involves advanced technical skills to support a smart PMO environment and configure audit compliance tools, perform critical path analysis, implement continuous monitoring through technology, and proficiently use of key tools to support program operations.

Responsibilities
  • Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate program team meetings and planning events, maintaining an inventory of action items and holding teams accountable.
  • Create and maintain a program plan with workstream leaders that supports critical path analysis for key dependencies.
  • Identify roadblocks early and manage mitigation individually.
  • Own the end-to-end SOX calendar, track program progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate program status transparently with stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality control, manage changes, and oversee workstream and program closure.
  • Maintain GRC workflow configurations to support control performance, testing and reporting in the system of record for the program.
  • Allocate and manage resources, leveraging program management software for analytics and budget adherence.
  • Create and deliver financial controls training to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience, with a focus on SOX and internal controls compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with a focus on SOX and internal controls compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to stand-up and support a smart PMO, leveraging technology and data-driven insights.
  • Strong leadership with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Adept at facilitating meetings and driving consensus.
  • Comfort delivering real progress to executives and stakeholders to ensure thorough program alignment.
  • Expertise in large-scale transformation programs in finance, IT, and/or compliance domains.
  • Experience in leading project teams in designing and deploying compliance analytics to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Proficient in project management tools (Jira, Wrike, Slack, Miro) and an understanding of how to connect them to data visualization tools.
  • Hands-on daily use of modern AI tools and able to demonstrate personal productivity gains.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization design to create impactful reports and dashboards.
  • Experience in implementing and using GRC tools (Optro, In-house built, etc.)
  • CPA, PMP, CSM, or similar certification is a desirable asset.
