Software Engineer
Join us as a Senior Software Development Engineer – FPGA programmable logic at Amazon Web Services (AWS). We build server solutions that deliver frugality, scalability, and high reliability for millions of customers.
OverviewAs a Senior FPGA developer, you will design, implement, and validate programmable logic components that power AWS data center servers. You’ll lead engineering efforts, collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams, and influence the technical direction of our product.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis individual‑contributor role involves end‑to‑end FPGA design, firmware support, and fleet operations. You will deliver architecture, estimates, implementation, verification, and validation; mentor junior members; support firmware deployment and debugging; and partner with cross‑functional teams to solve complex system challenges.
Basic Qualifications- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- 8+ years of programming with at least one high‑level language
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems
- Experience troubleshooting/debugging hardware
- Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team
- Experience contributing to architecture and design patterns of new and current systems
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of programming with a hardware description language (VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog)
- 8+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, operations)
- Experience leading and influencing a team or organization
- Experience with work breakdown and estimating design task effort

Salary & BenefitsBase salary ranges:
Cupertino, CA – $193,300 – $261,500 annually;
Seattle, WA – $168,100 – $227,400 annually. Additional compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching菜单, paid time off, and parental leave.headers
