Annapurna Labs, the group inside Amazon that designs its custom silicon, is hiring Software Development Engineer Interns for 2027 in Cupertino.

Annapurna designs Graviton (server processors), Trainium and Inferentia (machine learning accelerators) and the Nitro system that powers modern EC2, and owns the full stack from the chip through compilers, runtimes, drivers and frameworks. Interns are matched to a team based on interests and strengths. Example areas include compiler development for ML accelerators (Neuron SDK, MLIR, LLVM), ML runtimes and frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, Tensor Flow integration), low-level systems software, firmware and drivers, performance and kernel work on custom silicon, and distributed training and inference infrastructure.

You are paired with a mentor and manager who scope the project, and the expectation is production code with measurable impact by the end of the term.

Pay: the posted base salary range for Cupertino is $127,100 to $185,000 USD, stated on an annualised basis, with sign-on payments and restricted stock units as part of the Amazon package.

Who it is for: you must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's programme in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with a final graduation date of December 2027 or later, with programming experience in C, C++, Java or Python, coursework in data structures, algorithms and software design, and an understanding of operating systems, computer architecture or systems programming.

Preferred:
Linux/Unix experience, low-level C/C++ (memory management, concurrency), familiarity with compilers (MLIR, LLVM, TVM), ML runtimes or distributed systems, and prior internship, research or open-source work in systems or ML infrastructure.### Requirements

* Programming experience in at least one modern language such as C, C++, Java or Python
* Coursework or project experience in data structures, algorithms and software design
