- Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hr emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.
- This position is accountable for operating the CT scanner, transportation of patients, handling, answering questions related to reports of exams.
- Must be able to handle patient support equipment.
- The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment and order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures and administer basic CPR.
- The incumbent helps the supervisor in the daily operation of the CT department.
- Incumbent must be able to start IV to administer contrast fluid.
- Must be ARRT registered or registry eligible.
- The incumbent must be able to maintain a high standard of imaging.
- A thorough knowledge of CT parameters, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam.
- Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude towards patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
- Must be able to coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
- Must be available for 24-hour call back with a 60-minute response time.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of contrast media injections and reactions.
- Will participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department.
- The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.
- Vocational/Technical education.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (A.R.R.T.) or registry eligible.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
