Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in a behavioral health unit.
The unit accepts first-time travelers.
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:6.Weekend coverage is required.
The daily census is approximately 17 patients.
The unit has 12 rooms and 21 beds.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.
The patient population predominantly includes adults.
Special patient diagnoses may include mood disorders and substance use disorders.
The RN will be expected to manage medication administration, crisis intervention, and behavior management techniques.
This position requires skills in de-escalation techniques and managing self-injurious behavior.
The nurse may float to like units based on facility needs.
Travelers will receive brief orientation on the unit.
