Part-Time Health Teacher

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic teacher to teach two sections of health to high school students, five days per week, beginning in January 2026.

• Instructional Design & Delivery:
  • Teach the curriculum reflecting knowledge of the subject matter (subject matter expert) and the specific learning styles of the students.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions or activities.
  • Compile, evaluate and/or grade students' class work reflecting learning styles of students.
  • Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of curricula, course materials, and methods of instruction.
  • Utilize up-to-date technology in lesson plans and classroom management.
• Classroom & Student Management:
  • Manage the classroom to ensure successful learning for every student.
  • Maintain contact with students and parents with effective and regular communication.
• Professional Growth & Content Expertise:
  • Maintain expertise in the field through ongoing professional development demonstrating a commitment to the field of study and knowledge of diverse learning styles.
• Faith Formation:
  • Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation.
  • Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled.

• Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work in a related field.
• Valid Ohio teaching license for 7-12 grade health.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Understanding technology in curriculum design and classroom presentation.
• Experience in Catholic learning environment preferred.
• Commitment to Jesuit values and faith-based student formation.
• Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.

As a part-time employee, the Health teacher will be eligible to participate in the school’s 401k plan with matching contributions within the first month of employment.
