Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on financial professional (CPA helpful) to lead our financial strategy, strengthen financial reporting and accounting and support the company’s continued rapid growth.

The VP of Finance will serve as a key strategic partner to the President and the executive team.

This position will oversee accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, banking relationships, risk management and implement systems and processes that support scale.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of distribution, manufacturing or industrial supply, and can drive value through inventory optimization, margin improvement, and disciplined financial controls.

The VP of Finance will lead an experienced but small accounting department.

Financial, Accounting and Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with growth goals, cost-savings initiatives, and capital investment priorities.
  • Provide financial insight to support pricing strategy, working-capital optimization, customer profitability analysis, and VMI program returns.
  • Lead short- and long-term financial planning, including forecasting, scenario modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and month-end closing.
  • Ensure accurate accrual-basis financial statements prepared under GAAP, coordinated with the third-party accounting firm for periodic reviews.
  • Maintain the integrity of theFIFO inventory costing system; ensure accurate valuation, cycle counts, and margin reporting.
ERP, Cost Management, Treasury and Capitalization
  • Lead continued enhancement and utilization of Epicor P21, ensuring accurate data flows and optimization of modules related to inventory, costing, purchasing, pricing, and reporting.
  • Implement financial controls, automation, and workflow improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Drive cost-reduction strategies across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and overhead.
  • Monitor margin erosion and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships; optimize lines of credit and financing strategies.
  • Create and maintain cash-flow forecasts to support operational needs and capital investments.
  • Oversee insurance programs, risk management policies, and compliance with S-Corp requirements.
Real estate, Tax Compliance and Risk Management
  • Oversee financial planning and budgeting for two owned and three leased facilities.
  • Support decision-making related to lease renewals, real-estate investment, and facility expansion or consolidation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations applicable to anS-Corporation.
  • Oversee preparation and review of tax filings with external tax advisors.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness.
  • Oversee insurance programs, risk management policies, and compliance with S-Corp requirements.
Human Resource Management

Qualifications
  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in accounting and finance; at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, industrial supply, or related sectors.
  • Strong background in inventory accounting, costing methods, and margin analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic insight and drive operational excellence.
  • Expertise in GAAP, financial controls, tax compliance, and multi-facility operations.
  • Preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 or a comparable distribution-focused ERP.
  • Experience optimizing VMI programs or similar supply-chain value-creation strategies.
  • Experience managing relationships with external auditors or accounting firms.
  • CPA license.
