This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently machining parts by selecting the proper sequence of operations and executing the most effective setup to meet blueprint dimensions and tolerances.

• Machine Operation:
  Set up and operate a range of lathes, including manual vertical turret lathes, manual horizontal lathes, and CNC horizontal lathes.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Conduct daily equipment start‑up, clean‑up, and weekly maintenance, including routine preventative measures to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Tool Usage:
  Regularly employ manual tools such as Dial Calipers, Dial Indicators, and OD/ to verify dimensions and uphold quality standards.
• Material Management:
  Identify and label materials for traceability, including those slated for additional machining processes.
• Adaptability:
  Be prepared to operate other machines as required to meet production demands and contribute to overall team efficiency.

• Machining
  
  Experience:
  
  A minimum of 3 to 5 years of machining experience is required.
• CNC Programming Knowledge:
  Preferred for roles involving CNC machining. Training is available for candidates with the right aptitude.
• Large Turning
  
  Experience:
  
  Preferred, particularly with parts weighing over 1000 lbs.
• Lathe
  
  Experience:
  
  Beneficial to have experience with Monarch, Leblond, and Niles manual lathes.
• Overhead Crane and Forklift
  
  Experience:
  
  (Preferred)
• Alloy Steel Knowledge:
  Good knowledge of and experience working with alloy steel materials.
• Blueprint and BOM Interpretation:
  Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Detail‑Oriented:
  Demonstrated high levels of accuracy and attention to detail are crucial.
• Safety Awareness:
  Ability to work safely in a machine shop environment.

• Position requires physical capability, which includes standing most of the time, some lifting to 25 to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as needed.
• Steel‑toe boots and safety glasses are required.

$20–$45/hr based on experience.
