Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s lives? Our client, a leading primary school in Cwmbran, is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Classroom Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This rewarding role offers an opportunity to support pupils with diverse learning needs and contribute to an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs, both on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Adapt and deliver learning activities tailored to individual educational plans (IEPs)
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCo to implement strategies that promote inclusive learning
  • Foster a supportive and structured environment that encourages pupil engagement and independence
  • Assist in monitoring and recording pupil progress, ensuring IEP goals are being met
  • Support pupils with behavioral, sensory, or communication challenges as needed
  • Promote a safe and nurturing atmosphere to help pupils thrive academically and socially
Ideal Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred
  • Knowledge of SEN protocols and strategies to support various learning difficulties
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to fostering inclusive education
  • Ability to adapt activities and support diverse learning styles
  • Flexibility to work within a dynamic school environment
