Hourly Paid Additional Support Assistant (Independent Living Skills)

Salary: £16.14 per hour

An inspiring Additional Support Assistant will support learners with additional learning needs to access the curriculum at Coleg Gwent.

Working hours: Minimum of 16 hours per week, fixed term until 30/06/27, available 9am-4.30pm.

Applicants should have previous experience working with young people who have difficulties and/or disabilities and be educated to Level 2 standard with four GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.

The successful candidate will support learners on a 1:1 basis, providing personal care when needed, and work with learners in group settings. Collaboration with curriculum and campus support teams is required to ensure learners reach their full potential.

Proficiency in Welsh at a basic level is desirable, or willingness to undertake training. Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.

• Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (costs covered by the candidate).
• Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
