FBC UK is a joint venture of Burton's Biscuits and Fox's Biscuits, creating one integrated company that produces iconic biscuit brands across eight bakeries in the UK, employing around 4,000 colleagues.

We have an opportunity for a SHE Advisor to join our Llantarnam bakery. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role reporting directly to the SHE Manager, ideal for someone who is passionate about driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental standards within a fast‑paced operational environment.

• Provide expert guidance to management and staff on all aspects of SHE legislation, standards, policies, and procedures; act as deputy for the SHE Manager when required.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify hazards and implement preventive measures; develop and review standard operating procedures for existing and new equipment on site.
• Perform regular site inspections and internal audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead or support investigations into accidents and near‑misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Design and deliver SHE training programmes; champion a positive safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
• Stay up to date with evolving health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices, ensuring the site remains compliant.
• Support the SHE department with administrative tasks including report preparation, record maintenance, tracker updates, and policy development.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, management, and external regulatory bodies; attend daily factory review meetings, monthly departmental SHE meetings, and site‑wide SHE meetings.
• Assist with departmental financial processes by raising purchase orders and maintaining budget tracking spreadsheets.

• NEBOSH General Certificate.
• ISEP (IEMA) Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management or NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate.
• Professional membership with IOSH (Gard Iosh or above).
• Ideally experience with heavy industrial equipment.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar SHE/H&S role within a large site is preferred.
