We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Stress team across all levels from Stress Engineers, through Senior Stress Engineers to Lead Engineers at our Cwmbran site in South Wales.
Your RoleBy joining the Stress Engineering team at Safran Seats you will be part of a fast‑paced development environment where your designs and projects become reality throughout the product lifecycle of First and Business Class aircraft seating. You will collaborate directly with airlines to deliver cutting‑edge, state‑of‑the‑art aircraft interiors, and you will use your engineering core skills daily—from hand calculations to building and running FEA models of design iterations—to prove and certify these impressive products.
While dynamic simulation skills are required for Senior and Lead roles, we also have opportunities for candidates with strong static simulation experience.
- Engineering qualifications that provide knowledge to work from first principles.
- Ability to hand‑calculate and work through concepts.
- FEA experience with linear/non‑linear implicit FE analysis, multi‑body dynamic analysis, and/or non‑linear explicit FE analysis.
- Experience with solvers and software packages such as Altair Radioss, Hyper Crash, Hyper Mesh, Hyper View, Opti Struct, MSC Nastran, Sim Solid, Motion Solve.
- Experience analysing structures made with high‑performance steels, corrosion‑resistant steels, aluminium, and/or composite materials of both monolithic and sandwich panel construction.
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes, including Part
25 (EASA/FAA), Boeing / Airbus specifications, ACs, ARPs, and aerospace standards. - Knowledge of aerospace material standards, material or component test standards, and post‑processing methods (e.g., ASTM and B‑Basis calculations).
- Project management experience.
- Ability to program VBA, Python, or similar language.
