Quality Engineer Lead

Your role:
The Quality Engineer Lead assures the quality of products throughout their product lifecycle by supporting product lifecycle quality assurance, through the complete manufacturing process, and takes responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.
- Work closely with senior managers, as well as Quality Engineers, to define quality objectives in line with company objectives.
- Lead and develop the Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians within your area.
- Assign workload, ensure support, and oversee activities of the Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians within your area.
- Ensure that the appropriate action plans are implemented and carried out and measure their effectiveness.
- Conduct audits and OJT in accordance with regulations, company procedures and customer requirements.
- Lead and maintain the implementation validation process.
- Analyse all data to develop quality improvement plans, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure that products and services delivered to the customers have gone through the appropriate manufacturing / repair / validation process.
- Undertake QRQC (8D) as required to support timely operational throughput.
- Demonstrable experience in utilising QA tools such as APQP, Control Plans, and FMEAs.
- Sound experience of Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment (Aerospace/Defence/Automotive).
- Experience of leading other team members, providing support and expertise relating to quality activity.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory, international and quality management standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain relationships with challenging international suppliers and manage frequent interactions with Senior Management and other internal customers.
- Ability to challenge individuals at all levels to ensure compliance with business processes and standards.
