Emergency Department Deputy Manager/Charge Nurse

We are looking for a self-motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic Deputy Manager/Charge Nurse to join our Emergency care nursing team. If you feel you have the relevant experience and aptitude to join the Band 6 team at the Emergency Department in the Grange University Hospital this is a great opportunity for career progression.

Main duties of the job

The Band 6 Deputy Manager/Charge Nurse will work in close partnership with the Band 7 Clinical Leads and the multidisciplinary teams. You should be able support the ethos of collaborative working, minimising stress for both patients and staff, whilst maximising the provision of high quality evidence based emergency care.

In this leadership role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality, safe care. Working closely with the Senior Ward Manager/Charge Nurse, you will support and lead the nursing team, coordinating and overseeing shifts in their absence and ensuring excellent standards of care are consistently maintained.

Relevant post registration clinical and managerial experience is essential, demonstrable at a Band 5 level in Emergency or Acute Care. Resilience in this challenging & rewarding environment of care will be crucial.

There are exciting and challenging times ahead - the post holder will be expected to deliver on strategic goals with regard to the patient safety, quality, performance and financial agendas. This post involves the opportunity to work across all areas of the Emergency Department.
