The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse on SAU.

Candidates should be forward thinking, be able to demonstrate good clinical and assessment skills and able to manage the team in the absence of the Ward Manager. The ability to support the ward manager in a fast paced and challenging environment; to demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making and motivational skills along with patient centred care are essential qualities for this post.

Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives. If you are dedicated to improving the patient experience and committed to providing a positive environment for colleagues and patients, then this clinical area will enhance your job satisfaction by developing your clinical and managerial skills.
