Overview

This post is fixed term/secondment for 18 months until March 2028 due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver an effective, comprehensive and highly specialised assessment and therapeutic service to vulnerable parents of infants up to the age of 2 and where appropriate to the parents and infants together. They will prove a range of liaison activities which promote and support parent‑infant mental health and early intervention. The post holder will also be expected to provide support and consultation to staff working with children and families (up to age 7 years) as part of the Early Years service.

The postholder will hold a small clinical caseload supporting families. The post holder will ensure the provision of evidence based therapeutic intervention and support for parents with infants and children up to the age of 7, and provide expertise and specialist therapeutic advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to families’ treatment/support plans. Other professionals may seek post‑holder’s opinion in areas of specialty.
