Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 5:00pm
Experienced Steel Fabricator Required
Our client is a growing and well-established structural steel fabrication company delivering high-quality steelwork across a variety of sectors. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Steel Fabricator to join their busy production team in Cwmbran.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator seeking long-term employment with opportunities for overtime, development, and progression.
The Role
As a Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for manufacturing structural steel components from detailed engineering drawings. The role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricating structural steelwork to specification
Reading and interpreting fabrication and engineering drawings
Measuring, marking out, cutting, drilling, and assembling steel sections
Preparing and fitting components for welding
Operating workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality
Working closely with welders and production staff
Ensuring a safe, clean, and organised working environment
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in structural steel fabrication
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience using fabrication tools, machinery, and workshop equipment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Reliable and positive approach to work
Desirable Skills
Basic MIG/MAG or FCAW welding experience
Overhead crane licence
Forklift experience
Previous experience within a heavy engineering or structural steel environment
