The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 back‑dated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Secondment Details

This post is a fixed‑term/secondment for 12 months from start date due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

This is an exciting secondment opportunity to provide educational and pastoral support to Newly Qualified Nurses.

The post holder will work for 37.5 hours per week supporting and promoting excellence in patient care through development and coordination of all aspects of staff education, preceptorship programme training and development for post graduate education provision in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB).

The post holder will work in partnership with key stakeholders to develop strategies to ensure recruitment and retention of a highly motivated workforce by assessing training requirements and supporting and delivering the agreed induction programme for Newly Qualified within the organisation.

The post holder will work autonomously and be responsible for the development of training, induction and practice assessor and practice supervisor programmes, taking into account legislation and policy development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role;
Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Working with the Senior Nurse for Education and divisional Practice Educators, plan and develop practice education activities specific to Nurse education.
  • Support newly registered Nurses through the Preceptorship Programme, working alongside them in clinical areas, providing support and best‑practice advice to both educators and preceptors and proposing interventions for improvement.
