Overview
The role ensures product quality throughout the lifecycle with Safran Seats GB, supporting manufacturing processes and maintaining compliance with regulations, customer requirements and Safran standards.
Key Responsibilities- Protect customers from non‑quality by ensuring products and practices comply with regulations, customer requirements and Safran standards, promoting a culture of prevention and anticipation.
- Drive continuous improvement by capitalizing on factual data and feedback, supporting all company functions.
- Undertake other reasonable duties aligned with business needs and the overall purpose of the position.
- Verify conformity of product and part quality to agreed standards and requirements.
- Execute inspection processes consistently in line with specifications and customer standards.
- Use vernier calipers, micrometers and FARO arm for inspection activities.
- Support and assist with customer inspection activities.
- Complete part and assembly FAI reports to AS9102 against model data and third‑angle projection drawings.
- Act as EASA Form‑1 signatory for parts and products for release (post‑training).
- Act as Certificate of Conformity signatory (post‑training).
- Assist in team problem‑solving activities for manufacturing product quality issues using 8D techniques.
- Support quality activities within the project timeline.
- Maintain an effective product inspection portfolio.
- Ensure supplier compliance and that the customer’s voice is heard by all suppliers.
- Promote excellence among suppliers through methods and tools recommended by Safran.
- Guarantee the quality and compliance of products and services purchased and/or provided.
- Address supplier system, product and process anomalies, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline (essential).
- Sound engineering or quality background with experience in quality inspection within manufacturing or engineering industry (essential).
- Internal Auditor AS9100 trained (desirable).
- Experience with in the aerospace industry (desirable).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills (essential).
- Competent/confident communicator (essential).
- Good knowledge of measuring equipment (essential).
- Good understanding of engineering drawings (essential).
