A well-established logistics company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager or Controller, depending on the candidate’s background, leadership experience, and technical accounting expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can oversee daily accounting operations, lead an established team, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with proven people-management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to independently manage accounting operations in a high-volume, transaction-intensive environment.

• Lead, manage, and develop the Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounting teams, promoting accountability, employee development, and operational excellence.
• Oversee the month-end close process, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and procedures.
• Coordinate and support the annual external audit, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and coordination with external auditors.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve overall accounting efficiency.
• Partner with company leadership on accounting initiatives, financial operations, and cross-functional projects.
• Establish clear expectations, monitor team performance, and provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
• Ensure accounting processes support the company’s operational needs and continued growth.

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or in a comparable accounting leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting fundamentals and a solid understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience managing, developing, and holding accounting teams accountable.
• Ability to work effectively with an established team while improving processes, strengthening performance, and developing employees.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently oversee accounting operations while collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in a high-volume, transaction-intensive environment is strongly preferred.
• Logistics, transportation, distribution, or related industry experience is a plus.
