Employment: 100% full time, 10 months per year, tenure track
Teach nursing through lecture, on‑campus labs, simulation, skills and related courses to a diverse student population.
Participate in curriculum development, serve on committees, engage in professional development, co‑curricular activities, and the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and assessment cycle.
Maintain formal office and campus hours, participate in meetings, stay current with instructional methods and technologies, teach scheduled classes, perform clerical duties, and support student success.
Develop culturally relevant course content, culturally responsive pedagogical techniques, and effective practices to engage diverse and historically underserved students (African American, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, etc.). Evening and/or weekend assignments may be required.

Special Requirements- The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. No grade cards.
- All degrees and coursework used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be from accredited postsecondary institutions.
- Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or coursework required.
- A Master’s or higher degree, including coursework in nursing, education or administration.
- Completion of at least one year of teaching courses related to registered nursing, or completion of a post‑baccalaureate course that includes practice in teaching registered nursing.
- Direct patient care experience within the previous five years in the nursing area to which the instructor is assigned. This can be met by:
- One year continuous full‑time (or equivalent) experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated area, or
- One academic year of registered nurse level teaching experience in the designated area.
- Current and valid California Registered Nursing license by August 13, 2026 (tentatively).
- Current Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification by August 13, 2026 (tentatively).
- Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds; demonstrated equity‑oriented practices.
- Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and lab practices to support disproportionately impacted student populations.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Education.
- Ability to meet challenges of adult learners with diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working in a team‑teaching environment.
- Experience designing alternative learning activities that achieve desired training outcomes.
- Highly organized, prioritizes effectively, and displays integrity in student interactions.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of simulation and skills lab equipment and technological aids.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories, effective teaching strategies, and learner assessment principles.
- Knowledge of policy creation, implementation, and revision; including maintaining specific accreditation standards.
- Experience in Med Surg and/or MH/OB/Peds.
- Willingness to cross‑train in an additional specialty such as MH, OB, or Peds.
Salary Range: $85,541 – $128,379 annually. Open Date: 12/17/2025. Close Date: 02/12/2026.
