Cypress College is accepting applications for Part‑time French Instructor positions. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants to fill part‑time assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.
Primary Purpose and ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.
Special Requirements- The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If a degree award date is not posted on the transcript, your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.
- Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

- Master’s in the language being taught
- OR bachelor’s in the language being taught & AND Master’s in another language or linguistics OR possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area OR the equivalent (including related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee)
- Commitment to diversity. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practices within the classroom.
- Recent lower‑division or community college teaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop a variety of effective teaching techniques and assessment methods
- Ability to engage student interest to support a variety of learning styles
- Ability to promote the use of instructional technology in curriculum delivery
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with teaching and mentoring historically and socially minoritized/marginalized communities such as African‑American/Black, Chicanx/Latinx, Pacific Islander, Native American, women, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities
$1572.67 – $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67 – $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 – $1380.60 per lab unit rate
