Area Sales Manager – Fire Protection Solutions Job Cypress area,California USA,Sales

We’re looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead and develop a commercial Fire Solutions/Life Safety sales team supporting the greater Los Angeles market.

This is a leadership role for an established fire protection sales professional who understands the commercial fire alarm and life safety industry, knows how to navigate the construction market, and can coach a team to win complex projects and build long-term customer relationships.

You’ll combine sales leadership, technical expertise and business development
, helping the team grow existing accounts, develop new opportunities and expand market share across Southern California.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach and develop a team of Fire Protection/Life Safety sales professionals
Drive sales growth across commercial fire alarm and life safety solutions, particularly through electrical contractors with a focus on new construction
Develop and execute territory and account growth strategies
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with contractors, customers and key industry stakeholders
Coach sellers through the full sales process, from opportunity development and bidding through project turnover
Review bids and proposals, helping the team develop competitive strategies, establish appropriate margins and identify the right resources
Help salespeople understand customer requirements, buying priorities and project specifications
Identify opportunities to expand relationships across customers, contractors and other business divisions
Develop sales forecasts and contribute to longer-term revenue and growth planning
Act as a technical and commercial resource to the sales team across products, applications and services
Promote team selling and collaboration across geographic areas and business divisions
Represent the organization at industry events, associations and customer meetings
Help drive adoption of digital, remote-service and data-driven building technologies
Travel approximately 10% overnight for training and business development

Must Have:

8+ years of sales experience within the commercial construction market
Proven track record of sales success and business development
Experience selling through Electrical Contractors/General Contractors
Strong technical knowledge of commercial fire alarm / fire protection systems
Ability to read and interpret job specifications, drawings and project requirements
Understanding of contractor structures and the commercial construction sales process
Experience coaching, mentoring or leading sales professionals
Strong presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline
Previous sales management experience within construction, fire protection or building technology
Experience using Salesforce or another CRM
NICET Level II or higher certification in Fire Protection
