Raymond West is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our service team! The primary objectives of the Service technician are: (1) proficient repair and service of the customer's equipment, (2) maintain good communication and working relationships with customers, peers, and management, (3) represent and sell the entire company, (4) maintain and exceed productivity goals, (5) work within all safety guidelines established by Raymond West and OSHA.

Duties and Responsibilities- Repair all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.
- Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
- Train other employees as needed.
- Maintain a profitable billing level.
- Follow all Service Department procedures.
- Communicate with assigned Field Supervisor.
- Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion.
- Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
- Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
- Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
- Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
- Always represent the entire company.
- Pass Raymond Certification and re‑certification if applicable.
- Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Report accidents whether self or customer.
- Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
- Must coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.
- Must follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
- Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
- Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.
- Establish a positive rapport with customers.
- Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service Supervisors or Managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, co‑workers, and managers in other departments.
- Willing to work off‑hours as needed and assume more responsibility as required.
- Ability to fulfill essential job functions in a safe manner.
- Self‑motivated and able to manage time efficiently.
- Customer oriented.
- Professional behavior at all times.
- Follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department.
- Deal with customers on a face‑to‑face basis.
- Work with other technicians and fellow workers.
- Pass all available certificates appropriate to the position.
- Knowledge of basic DC and AC electricity, internal combustion and diesel engines.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical ability: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Raymond Level 1 Certified or working toward that goal, if applicable.
- Valid driver’s license with no more than the allowable level of points on record, if applicable.
- Maintain personally owned tools according to approved minimum tool list.
- Maintain additional tools as required by duties and certification level.
- Take direction and work as a team player.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Mechanical abilities.
