Smile Avenue Family Dentistry is excited to announce a career opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Dental Lab Supervisor. We are seeking a professional to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role requires your onsite presence as it is not eligible for remote work. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of our in-house dental laboratory, focusing on managing workflow, coordinating lab cases, maintaining inventory, and leading a small, proficient team.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality dental prosthetics for our patients and partner practices.
As a Dental Lab Supervisor, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our practice while developing your professional skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be handling advanced dental prosthetic workflows and will engage in hands-on activities as well as team management, making this role both challenging and fulfilling for the right candidate.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations and management of the dental laboratory.
- Coordinate the scheduling and workflow of all lab cases to ensure efficient and timely production.
- Maintain high standards of quality control for all dental prosthetics produced.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the lab operates smoothly without interruptions.
- Implement and monitor procedures for the use of clinical and laboratory equipment, ensuring its maintenance and repair.
- Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to lab technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to optimize the creation of dental prosthetics.
- Stay abreast of advancements in dental technology, particularly CAD/CAM and digital dental workflows, and apply new knowledge to our operations.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the laboratory environment.
- Regularly review and propose improvements to laboratory operations to increase efficiency and quality.
- 3+ years of dental lab experience, either hands-on or in a supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of dental prosthetic workflows including crowns, bridges, dentures, and other lab processes.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM and digital dental workflows, preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage scheduling, inventory, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate with various departments.
- Dedication to maintaining the highest quality standards in dental lab outputs.
