Position Summary: The Project Engineer will have a technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to support the execution of microgrid power plants and natural gas asset development & reliability. This role will be responsible for managing project delivery, coordinating with engineering partners, and overseeing packaging vendors—particularly those supplying electrical equipment, large generator engines, and gas turbines. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage engineering projects for natural gas engine and turbine–based power plants.
- Oversee and coordinate with electrical vendors, mechanical equipment suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support procurement efforts by evaluating vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Provide on‑site support during design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, reporting progress to leadership and clients.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify and resolve technical or logistical issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–10 years of experience in project engineering, ideally within power generation, utilities, or industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of power plant equipment (natural gas engines, turbines, switch gear, transformers, balance‑of‑plant systems).
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Experience with turbo machinery, rotating equipment, or distributed power systems.
- Knowledge of permitting, codes, and standards relevant to power generation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an asset.
