- Evaluate, organize, and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy for pediatric patients within the home health setting.
- Direct the patient and caregiver in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and/or enhance performance.
- Examine, evaluate, and administer remedial treatments for pediatric patients; provide clinical treatment including screenings, evaluations, direct treatment, and family/caregiver training and counseling regarding status, progress, goals, home programming and discharge planning.
- Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines; maintain communication with the pediatric patient and family regarding progress, problems, home programs, and related issues.
- Refer patients and family members to appropriate services including other professionals, agencies, and resources; consult with physician on patient progress and maintain appropriate records.
- Maintain equipment and supplies; participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs; attend Continuing Education activities and expand scope of service.
- Maintain adequate caseload with appropriate productivity; participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals.
- Mentor students and new hires; participate in professional organizations and activities; demonstrate initiative and independent judgment in performing job responsibilities.
- Serve as backup service provider for other caseloads as needed; comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy required.
- Current state-issued professional license.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- CPR certification.
- Pediatric clinical experience; home health experience preferred.
- Ability to read and write in simple correspondence with effective public speaking in small groups.
- Strong critical thinking, detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems with various variables.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, record keeping, and routine database activity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Spends time standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling as part of therapy work.
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills; work in diverse indoor residential or childcare settings.
- Moderate physical activity; ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds; close vision requirements; moderate noise in office environments.
