Job DescriptionMunicipal Operations & Consulting is seeking a Crane/Electrical Operator to perform complex work in the operation, construction, and maintenance of pumps, motors, instruments, and Lift Station equipment. Work involves coordinating the operation and repairs of equipment by completing electrical troubleshooting within panels, wet well cleanings, pump and motor maintenance. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement in Cypress, Texas (a suburb of Houston, Texas).
Responsibilities- Conduct detail routine inspections of wastewater lift station
- Check all wastewater pumps, maintain electrical controls and equipment
- Clean and perform simple maintenance and repairs on lift station.
- Operates pickup trucks, air compressor, and sewer cleaner
- Perform minor maintenance on pumps
- May be called in on emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Keep detailed notes on tasks, equipment used, and materials
- Detail-oriented
- Fix and install pipes
- Repair water/sewer lines
- Work diligently on deadline jobs
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Exposure to extreme cold, heat, temperature swings, noise, and constant noise;
- Twisting body;
- Standing;
- Squatting;
- Seeing;
- Pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds;
- Kneeling;
- Reaching above shoulder level;
- Using both hands for simple and firm grasping and manipulations;
- Clarity of hearing
- Exhibit basic navigation skills of the city of Houston and surrounding areas;
- Use hand tools (shovel, rachets, screwdrivers, pickaxes, axes, etc.);
- Self-motivated;
- Determination
- Previous pump maintenance and electrical experience preferred
- Must have valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass drug test

- Two weeks paid vacation after 1 year
$17-19 depending on experience
