Job Description Purpose and ScopeThe Electrician Technician III position utilizes a specialized skill set in performing assigned duties and tasks. Responsible for campus-wide maintenance, service and repairs on electrical, lighting, HVAC on multiple buildings. Rely on experience, training and independent judgment to plan and carry out goals, missions and objectives. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and coordinate the work of others. Responsible for maintaining all college, state and federal safety guidelines and standards.
This role works collaboratively across LSC campuses on special projects, recommend process improvement, and implement best practices in standard operating procedures (SOPs) across functional units.
Essential Job Functions- Must be capable of performing labor-intensive work associated with facilities maintenance
- Must be capable of safely operating powered equipment such as:
Electrical tools and equipment, voltage meters, testing equipment, saws drills, and be able to determine which equipment to use for a particular purpose - Must have knowledge of and ability to follow building codes
- Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet
- Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling
- Holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body
