- Safely operate a box truck or step-van for local deliveries, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload items using manual handling techniques, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices and GPS tools to optimize time and fuel consumption.
- Interact professionally with customers during delivery, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and route activities using mobile devices or delivery logs.
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with courier or driver roles involving load & unload responsibilities. Will train if you have no experience.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards during route driving.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
- Ability to operate mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and record keeping efficiently.
