This position is a part‑time senior RF engineering role supporting various DoD customers in Virginia and Maryland. Focus includes electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and spectrum‑related processes such as EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation techniques for Navy and Marine Corps spectrum‑dependent systems (SDS).

• Provide technical expertise on EMC and spectrum for Navy/Marine Corps spectrum‑dependent systems, both land‑based and shipboard.
• Analyze RF compatibility of co‑located systems and develop EMI mitigation techniques.
• Calculate link budgets and perform coupling analyses to assess operational capabilities of DoD and other spectrum‑dependent systems.
• Perform EM site surveys to quantify the RF environment at DoD and commercial facilities.
• Navigate spectrum and frequency allocation databases to retrieve system information for analysis.
• Model EMI and EMC interactions using propagation and RF tools for co‑located or geographically spread systems.
• Research system and equipment characteristics and performance criteria.
• Analyze and mitigate potential EMI between systems.
• Perform and document Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA) for DoD acquisition programs.
• Oversee and mentor less experienced engineers.

• Support business development and growth opportunities.
• Assist proposal efforts, including writing RFP responses and participating in review teams.

• Proficiency with Real‑Time Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Amplifiers, and general RF testing equipment.
• Ability to work indoor and outdoor, occasionally carrying up to 50 lbs of test equipment.
• Experience with Spectrum Analysis, EMI/EMC evaluations, and RF engineering for DoD systems.
• Strong knowledge of operational spectrum coordination, frequency planning, and spectrum policy.
• Experience leading and mentoring electrical and RF engineers.
• Active SECRET security clearance.

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 15+ years of experience in EMI/EMC, spectrum coordination, RF testing (MIL‑STD‑461/464), and related DoD engineering.
