Combat Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA, and support a US Navy Program that requires extensive Combat System Integration expertise. This full‑time role offers an exciting opportunity to work on Non‑AEGIS ships, including amphibious submersibles and aircraft carriers, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our nation's warfighters.

• Conduct ship checks to document existing compartment arrangements and system configurations.
• Provide development and modification of drawing products.
• Develop Projected Class Baseline (PCB) drawings to support Ship Installation Drawing (SID) development for multiple ship changes to Amphibious ship classes.
• Create Contract Guidance Drawings (CGDs) including room arrangements and system block diagrams.
• Perform detailed technical reviews of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), Ship Change Documents (SCDs), and Authorization Work Packages (AWP).
• Provide technical resolution to identified ship system/integration issues.
• Evaluate system‑level interface issues and provide recommendations.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations to resolve configuration issues and deficiencies.

• Minimum of 6 years experience as either a Fire Control Technician (FC) or Electronic Technician (ET) or 5 years’ experience in ship design or integration.
• Familiarity with Combat System block wiring and line diagrams.
• Specific experience in areas such as Command and Control (C2), Electronic Warfare (EW), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), or Exterior Communication Systems (Excoms).

• Recent and verifiable experience supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) ship integration efforts is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical documentation review.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance (a current Secret Clearance is a plus).
• US citizenship is required, and holding a US passport is advantageous.

The position is based in Dahlgren, VA, with a hybrid work model of 3 days on‑site and 2 days from home. Alternatively, work can be based in Norfolk at Fort Monroe. Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dahlgren, VA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00/hr.
