Senior Systems Engineer

Purpose:

* Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) in Dahlgren, VA.

Job Description:

* Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
* Performs high level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems.
* Considered technically competent on specialty systems. Recommends changes in technical application.
* Develops and applies advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems.
* Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks.
* Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements.
* Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions.
* Full knowledge of industry practices. Ability to lead and train others.
* Ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner.

Qualifications:

* Must have a High School Diploma and 8 years' experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems.
* Must have experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
* Must have experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, and part task trainer emulations. Desired

Qualifications:

* Recent and relevant U.S. Navy shipboard experience with current surface combat systems, preferred.
* Navy Instructor experience and Master Training Specialist (MTS) preferred.
* Qualified TAO, AAWC, and/or CSC, preferred.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, preferred. Security Requirements:
* Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance. Travel Requirements:
* 25% travel required.

Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
