SALARY RANGE: $141k -$ 211k Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer, Senior to join our team supporting NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. This role leads systems engineering and mission engineering for DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control, cyber, and/or fire control systems. The Systems Engineer, Senior develops requirements, top-level designs, and system architectures for software-intensive systems that support Navy and Joint war fighting capability.

Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; or ten (10) years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to the technical disciplines of the SOW.Ten (10) years of professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, C2, cyber, and/or fire control systems program.

Five (5) years of concurrent experience as a team leader performing systems engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top-level designs and/or system architectures for software-intensive systems.

Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, cyber situational awareness, and fire control systems for Navy and Joint war fighting capabilities.

Concurrent experience in one of the source-defined subcategories:
Weapons Systems / Weapons Control Systems / Combat Systems;
Strategic Fire Control Systems;
Security Systems;
Cyberspace Systems; or Computer Systems Engineer.

For Security Systems subcategory only: CISSP IAW DoDD 8570; IAM Level III or higher with certification in Networking Technologies; IT-1 level clearance; experience preparing and submitting Navy/DoD security certification and accreditation documentation for major weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems.

Ability to obtain and maintain the DoD/Navy clearance required by the final DD254/JPAS.Desired Qualifications

Experience with Government Off-The-Shelf and Commercial Off-The-Shelf technology in weapon, weapons control, combat, or fire control systems.

Experience with strategic fire control systems, SLBM Fire Control Systems, Formal Qualification Testing, Independent Verification and Validation, third-generation programming languages, Database Management Systems, mission planning, targeting models and simulations, Strategic Weapon System, Attack Weapon Control System, SPALTs, or logistics management of software, hardware, and documentation.

Experience leading shipboard system integration, development, deployment/design efforts, safety, Information Assurance, Human System Integration, documentation, software or hardware Change Control Boards, or working groups supporting strategic or attack weapons systems.

Experience with big data, machine learning, cloud, microservice architecture, correlation and analytics of externally derived information, and display of information for decision-making.
